Now some of you have probably read these already but I had to share because I really enjoyed the Hunger Series books. In terms of just a fun and engaging reading experiences the first two books in this series were great (the third comes out in August). Good post-apocalyptic society read. Running Man meets Island of the Blue Dolphins, well maybe that's a weird pairing but you'll get my point if you give them a read.

I hadn't heard of these before--but that doesn't mean a lot coming from me. Next time I'm ready for modern fiction I'll give them a look. Trilogies are dangerous though because they will consumer your life.

ReplyDeleteI was reminded a lot of Lord of the Flies, but with older kids. I hope that doesn't deter anyone--I loved Lord of the Flies, but Mikey was a bit scarred by the movie.
