WALL-E

Could be THE animation achievement in history. Up there with Bambi and Spirited Away.

  2. I'm so glad you had a chance to see this animated marvel.

    Without any friends.

    Alone.

    In the dark.

Eating fatted corn that is popped.

  3. Loved it. I can't believe I saw a movie on opening weekend. When was the last time I did that?

  4. While you two love birds were watching Wall-e together, I conquered level 50 on Puzzle Farter.

  5. I read something recently about some animation nerd going on and on about how animation isn't a GENRE it a MEDIUM and that animation can be any genre it wants to be.

I've enjoyed basically all of the Pixar films and we own many of them, but they've been REALLY good animated movies. Wall-E is the first that I think of first as a sci-fi. It's a great MOVIE that transcends the medium, and that's really quite remarkable.

  6. wow, tone. well put. i hadn't thought of it that way, but i heartily agree.

mike, my wife betrayed me and saw it in california with my kids. so i took my parents and my brother. i ate no corn, popped or cobbed. and all the while i thought of your silly face.

  7. I haven't seen WallE yet, but along with what Tone said, I'd put The Incredibles in the same category. I think of it as an action/comic book movie, better than even spiderman 1 and 2. It's as good as Batman Begins.

  8. I finally saw Wall-E over the weekend (And by "finally", I mean a week late) with Henry and Elsa. They were entranced and I was blown away. I think this must be what seeing Chaplin's "Modern Times" was like in 1936.
