Let's Hear it for The Men In Suits!

Isn't it about... Time?

  1. I've been on a steady diet of Squirrel milk and protein shakes since September in preparation for the Suit Bowl. I am in peak physical form. I've never been faster, run cleaner routes or had more consistent YAC. I will be in Utah County by the 17th or 18th with my A game. See you there suckahs.

  2. i'm in whenever. i'll still hide some behind the camera, but i'll be emerging periodically to barbeque anyone who gets in my way.

  3. Hey Rob,

If you're playing against me this year, I'm gonna have my son Henry cover you. Because, frankly, I'm looking for more of a challenge myself, and he's been training hard and I think he's up to the task. Just for kicks I printed out a picture of you and taped it to his teddy bear so he can practice tackling and pile driving and stuff.

  4. Game on, I'm in town starting the 16th. Squirrel milk? Well I just eat the whole squirrel as well as rocks and nails and all things tough. Bring it on fools!

  5. This post has brought on some frisky responses.

Is this going to be the Christmas party? Play football and eat some grub? That'd be Kool Mo Dee.

I freaking LIVE in Provo. I LIVE HERE FOOLS, WHO WANTS SOME! WHO...

(Whoa...easy...calm down. Game not started yet.)

If Holmes Slice is in town on the 17th or 18th, and D train is here on the 16th, when is A-hammer (Aaron) coming in?

I say we play either on the 19th or the 20th. The 20th is on the weekend so the working stiffs can get it off, but, I'm working in the morning that day, but can probably be off by around 1:00 pm.

Dates and times fools, also, where should we play?

  6. Sorry to spoil your holidays, losers, but I'm in town on the 17th. And, provided I can find ground transportation, I figure we can make it down any time other than Christmas morning to mess you all up. Boo yeah! Hoo hah! Since I've moved to Texas, I haven't eaten anything but brisket and fried okra...so I'm pretty much a steep flight of stairs away from a massive coronary. Wait, what was my point?

Seriously, though, if I could manage to not break my ankle this time, that'd be real, real sweet.

Just to be clear, too, I need to bring my old football suit, right? I think I still have it.

  7. When: I think the 20th sounds best. I will Facebook e-mail Ollerton since he hasn't figured out this whole blog thing yet.

Where: I think we should find a gravel parking lot littered with broken bottles and rusty car parts. Or we could just play at Grandview for old time's sake--oh wait is there a field there anymore?

Brandie: Getting too old to take on Holmesie so you've got to have your kid fight your battles for you, huh? What are you, like 35 now? Freakin' fossil!

  8. Dude, Holmes, I did two and a half pullups yesterday, in a row, so you don't have any idea what you're talking about. I just keep getting more powerful and more confident and more angry with age, and my tris are huger than ever, so I really don't think you want to mess, trust me.

20th is good for me. Anyone wanna practice on the 13th?

    ReplyDelete
  9. no practices! that was dave stevens' downfall.

    ReplyDelete
  10. The practice was okay, except none of us knew what to do--and tackle is a lot different than flag. Steven's downfall was playing QB when we could have had Duerden in. Pick on the first play. Besides, it's tough to defend Mat's run/pass threat.

  11. 20th it is. Starting right now I plan to do nothing but push ups until kick off on the 20th.

  12. To add to the intrigue, if I beat Gil in Fantasy Football and Brandie beats Tony (both are likely in my opinion) then Brandie and I will face off in the FFL championship game that same weekend. My head is about to explode!

  13. hey dudes, Nach has some big news and wants all of you to contact him:

    hasnaokun@hotmail.com

by the way, I'm in town until the 23rd. Football would be awesome, but i have to warn you that even though my physical condition has deteriorated i have spent the last 4 years in a research lab creating a pair of bio-bionic hybrid legs powered my mutant chimp myocytes that i plan to use to high-step past sandberg's outstretched fingers into the endzone.

  14. I will be getting my nails done on the 20th, so I won't be able to make it. Unless any of you "men" dare to change the date which would result in complete and total domination.

    ReplyDelete
  15. What about Guido? Do you think you can round him up Sanchez?

    ReplyDelete
  16. Relax, Wells. I didn't mean "practice" is in "get good at this so I can humiliate Holmes in front of his wife and children." 'Cuz, duh, no need to practice that. I meant "practice" as in "play football more than once this year." Mainly Henry keeps asking me when we're going to play suit football, and I figured if a bunch of us wanted to throw the ball around on the 13th, he'd be more appeased about not playing the whole game on the 20th.

    ReplyDelete
  17. erm, this is a little embarrassing, but I'm apparently not available on the 20th. It looks like I'll be watching BYU beat the crap out of some mediocre Pac-10 team (Arizona?). Maybe if I take my suit, Bronco will sub me in for a kickoff return. I'm still eligible. Don't anyone tell him about my trick ankle.

  18. Barry B. Benson--

Are you going to Vegas to watch the game? if so, for shame not KNOWING it's freaking Arizona the cougs will be murdering that night.

If you're not going to Vegas the game won't be on until 6 PM. Now I loves me some suit football, but I don't think we'll be playing for THAT long.

Also, who is this 'wildholdy' guy, and what's he done with Naoto?

Brand X, throwing the ball a little on the 13th would be fun. Work out a little rust, see if the passes have the same zip on them, sounds good. If I freak out every time we don't convert on 4th down then we'll ALL know never to practice again.

And Holmes, Brandy has to get through me to play you, don't count out the Kings, I just ran over Bentley, and I've got the taste for some undead blood.

  19. Am I invited? I'll bring Dave.

  20. Hey D'H do you have contact w/Sandberg? (Am I invited? Pshaw!)

  21. "Are you going to Vegas to watch the game? if so, for shame not KNOWING it's freaking Arizona the cougs will be murdering that night."

Yup. Vegas, Baby! With my Dad! WOOOO!

Look, man, I've got bigger and better football programs to follow now. I can't be held responsible for knowing the latest Pac-10 bottom-dweller the Cougs have to play in their bowl game. I've got Red Raiders to look after. Woo! Guns up! WOOOOO! Wait...what do you mean the Cotton Bowl isn't a BCS bowl?

    ReplyDelete
  22. I'm in on the 20th. When and where do I show up?

    ReplyDelete
  23. sorry dudes... wildholdy=ollerton

  24. Everyone knows that Mikey is a funny guy--I mean good grief, read the reviews. However, being blessed comes with downfalls. People don't take you seriously. I wasn't joking when I said I wouldn't be able to make the 20th for kickoff. I will be in Idaho.

I was hoping you might all reconsider the 23rd, as Walters originally suggested. Ollerton--are you here the 23rd or gone already? Would the 22nd work better?

If these options don't work, I will take it that you are all afraid of me, and in my mind, I will justify the already existing dominance.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I'm good for the 23rd as well. I emailed Guido, he said maybe on the 20th, he might be in Idaho. I'll ask him about the 23rd too.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Andy said they were leaving on the 23rd so maybe 22nd would be best. It's likely that there isn't a day that will work for everybody and we'll have to decide who to sacrifice. I vote for Tony.

    ReplyDelete
  27. so, wait. what's going on?

    ReplyDelete
  28. Anyone who can't do it on the 22nd? Frankly I'm scheduled to work on that day, but I might be able to find a replacement, or if we play in the afternoon that would work for me.

Unfortunately for Holmes, my schedule is pretty flexible, and I have my priorities straight, unlike Padeken, family temple trip indeed, so anytime the 20th through the 23rd is okay.

If push comes to shove and we need to play one day and have some sort of potluck thing another day so we can see as many people as possible that's okay by me. Everyone just put down your availability and we'll all have to decide what's best. Heck, I missed the party one year...and I...got over...it.

  29. I'm no good in the mornings of the 22nd/23rd. Afternoon I could do.

Has anyone called Chambers (Kevin) to let him know of this? Last I heard he was boycotting the blog.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I'm fine any day before the 26th.

Guido says he has to work on the 22nd and 23rd, but probably can't make the 20th either.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Just talked with Chambers...

He says he would be good on the 23rd. He'll be out of town the 19th -22nd to watch some football game in Denver. Guess his brother is playing or something.

Maybe we should consider substituting a road trip to Denver on the 20th in place of the Men in Suits.

I've never been to an NFL game but going to watch Kirk mash some heads would be a worthwhile excuse.

    ReplyDelete
  32. yeah, I could do any day before the 23rd or after the 27th.
